It was great pleasure for FNF Malaysia to welcome Mmusi Maimane, leader of the opposition party, the Democratic Alliance of South Africa, to Malaysia on 2-4 December 2015. In this trip, he was accompanied by Mr. Hubertus von-Welck, FNF Regional Director Africa.

During the visit, Mmusi Maimane met with several key leaders of the People’s Justice Party (PKR) of Malaysia, including the Chief Minister of Selangor, Azmin Ali, and the President of the Party, Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail. Mmusi Maimane delivered an inspiring speech during the Dinner Talk hosted by KEADILAN. He shared his political experience as leader of the opposition party in South Africa and also shared his views on the current government in South Africa.

Mmusi Maimane also gave a speech during a public discussion event hosted by IDEAS. The event was attended by a huge crowd, who were enthusiastic to listen to Maimane’s speech. Present was also Dr. Hwok Aun Lee of University of Malaya who delivered his comparison study between the politics of Malaysia and South Africa.

On the last day, Mmusi Maimane visited PKR Headquarters and met with several senior leaders of the Party. Both parties shared their experience as an opposition party and their party management skills. They were keen to learn from one another about their knowledge and practice in politics.
